A Simple Way To Help You Achieve Your Goals

Today we’re going to be talking about a simple way to help you achieve goals, all right? And so, I say simple, but not easy. These principles are not difficult to understand. They’re straightforward. But they’re not easy.

What I’m going to teach you today is simple. So, ultimately, what we’re talking about today, and a simple way to achieve any goal, are you guys ready? A simple way is to eliminate excuses.

So, we need to eliminate excuses. And here’s the thing about excuses you guys, is that they are self-imposed. Somebody else doesn’t give you an excuse. There might be an external circumstance to you, but you can either accept the excuse as a reason why you don’t get results, right? But you don’t have to, you have a choice. But listen to me when I say this, you cannot have excuses and results at the same time, all right? I’m going to say that one more time. You cannot have excuses and results at the same time.

So you can’t have excuses and results at the same time. And excuses are just toxic. Excuses rob us of our dreams. We need to eliminate these self-imposed reasons, aka excuses for why we’re not doing what we know we need to do.

So how do you eliminate excuses from your life? How do you throw away these toxic reasons for why you’re not getting things done from your life?

1. Have Goals That Are Worth The Effort

Now, the first thing you do is you need to be going after a goal that’s worth the effort that you would put into going after. You need to establish a goal that is big enough and worth you going after that’s going to be worth you saying you know what, this excuse is not enough for me to not do what I need to do to
If I make my goal so easy that when it’s time for me to produce, when it’s time for me to get up in the morning, when it’s time for me to do something I don’t necessarily want to do to get there, it’s going to be easy for me to say, it really wasn’t that important to me anyway. I’m going to challenge you to create a goal that’s going to be big enough that scares you a little bit, but that is big enough that the vision of when you accomplish it, it fires you up to say you know what, I can’t accept this excuse in terms of being able to move forward.

2. Have A Strong Why

The Second thing you need to do is, you need to have a strong enough “why,” and you need to remember it. At the end of the day, your “why” should draw emotion. And it needs to be strong enough that when the excuse is coming, you can hit it at the pass and say, you know what, I remember why I set this goal. I remember why I set this goal.
I’m going to give you a little bit of a clue on where to start on finding your “why.” Your “why” cannot be related to just the personal gain you will get from achieving your goal. It’s got to be something bigger than you. Because you’ll let yourself down all the time, right?

3. Have a Solution-Based Mentality

But, the third thing that you need to do, is you need to have a solution-based mentality See, so oftentimes, when there’s an excuse that can be used as a reason for not doing something
when you have a solution-based mentality, you don’t cut yourself off from options that can help you, that can influence you actually to get things done. But when you ask yourself, how can I get this done? How can I get it done despite this? How can we make this work? How can we move forward? All of these questions that start with how are solution-based ways for you actually to move forward.

Two words you got to eliminate that in tandem, you need to remove from your vocabulary, is “I can’t.” I’m just telling you, if I could reach through this computer and look at you directly in the eyes, stop saying, “I can’t.” Because let me tell you what “I can’t” does. “I can’t” eliminates options. “I can’t” stops you. “I can’t,” separates you further and further from your hopes and dreams.
There are no rules, right? The only rule is the possibility. Listen to what I just said. The only rule is the possibility.

But, nothing is possible if you say “I can’t.” Stop saying it. Eliminate it from your vocabulary. And replace it with “How can.” How can I? How can I get this done despite?
But when it comes to me, when it comes to the front door of my mind, I have an option of what I’m going to do with it. Am I going to entertain this fear? Am I going to entertain this doubt? Or am I going to move forward? Am I going to say no, not today. How can I move forward despite this?

But the extraordinary, listen to what I’m telling you, the extraordinary people, you’re trying to hit those goals, man? Are you trying to do something different? You’re trying to do something outside of what you ever thought you could? So ask yourself how to eliminate “I can’t,” from your vocabulary. Have a solution-based mentality.
